NightSearcher - saving natural resources and the environment

Our Recyling Ethos

RECYLING

If you’re buying a new electrical item from us, we will recycle your old one for free under our Take Back Policy.

NightSearcher is happy to take receipt of this product at end-of-life and will recycle it on your behalf.

Please do not throw electrical equipment (including those items marked with the ‘wheelie bin’ symbol) in your household waste bin. This is because: Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK's fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment.

If we do not recycle electrical items they will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

WEEE DIRECTIVE

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. In the UK, distributors and retailers must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge.

As a responsible retailer, we have met the requirements placed on us by offering all customers buying new electrical equipment free take-back of their old electrical items on a like-for-like basis in our stores.

Unwanted items should be returned within 28 days of purchasing your new product. If you no longer require your NightSearcher product or you are replacing depleted batteries, you can return your batteries to NightSearcher and we will recycle them for you free of charge.

As a manufacturer we are part of the CCR Rebat compliance scheme and we are registered with the Environment Agency as a battery producer and our registration number is BPRN01345. Returning your unwanted or depleted batteries to us will ensure that they are recycled properly and with as little impact on the environment as possible.
